Ajarn Steven Wilson has attained the unique honor of becoming one of the first Americans to qualify as a Gold Sash Eighth Degree in Krabi-Krabong. This is the highest grade ever awarded to non-Thai students of the art and affirms Arjarn Wilson as one of very few qualified Instructors of Krabi-Krabong in the United States
Ajarn Wilson began training in Jujutsu in 1976 under Shihan Donovan Newland and has continued his training to present under Dennis J. Heath. In 1983 he began training as a personal student under Ajarn Surachai Sirisute and has continued his training with Master Chai to present. He is one of the volunteers who work tirelessly to promote, set up, and run the annual Oregon Thai Boxing summer camp with Master Chai and Guro Dan Inosanto where attendance is by invitation only.
· Class 8 Level 1 instructor of Thai National Martial Arts (Muay Thai, Muay Thai Boran, Muay Thai Kachuek, and Krabi-Krabong), trained and certified by the Buddhai-Swan Swordfighting Institute of Ayuthaya, Thailand. Ajarn Wilson’s mission statement from the Royal Ministry of Education, Kingdom of Thailand; Ajarns Surachai Sirisute, Samai Masamarn & Daniel Inosanto is for the promotion and instruction of the Thai National Martial Arts on an international level.
· 7th Level Gold Sash from the Buddhai Sawan Sword Fighting Institute in Thailand (the highest ranked active student in the U.S.A) in Krabi-Krabong, Muay Thai, Muay Thai Boran, Muay Thai Kacheuk.
· He is a long-time personal student of Grandmaster Surachai Sirisute
· Class 8, Level 1 Instructor of Thai National Martial Arts as registered by the Ministry of Education for the Royal Kingdom of Thailand (awarded by Grandmaster PaKroo Masamarn)
