There are multitudes of ways to utilize elbows strikes offensively and counter-offensively. From our Muay Thai, Muay Boran, and Krabi Krabong training elbows are second nature. Here we are working the elbow as a secondary counter-offensive strike from Break In – Break Out. The primary strike is the punyo on the break in. If your opponent is able to check the arm, it is possible to continue the the forward energy by hinging at the elbow and spearing forward to their unprotected face. The goal is to work it from free flow and learn to recognize when to continue the forward energy of your entry and spear with the elbow.
